Yes! Bus Passes are a great way to save money and time! They can be bought at the Rutland Transit Center at 102 West St, Rutland, VT Monday-Friday between 8AM-5PM (Lunch Break from 12pm-1pm).

Seasonal Access Pass: Season Access Pass gets you a ride on every route for one low price.

Validity Period- Summer Season: May 1 – Oct 31 | Winter Season: Nov 1 – Apr 30
Use Case: Our flagship pass, this is best suited for those that regularly use The Bus for travel. Equivalent to Six Monthly All Route Access Passes at the price of 5 Monthly All Route Access Passes. You get a month of travel free!

Monthly All Route Access Pass: Monthly All Route Access Pass gets you a ride on every route during a single calendar month.

Use Case: Best suited for those that ride both city-fixed and commuter routes frequently Equivalent to a Commuter Route roundtrip on The Bus every other day. If you ride 15 times or more on a Commuter route each month, this is a great deal!

Monthly City-Fixed Access Pass: Monthly City-Fixed Access Pass gets you a ride on the North, South, West, and Hospital Routes during a single calendar month.
Routes: North, South, West, Hospital
Validity Period- Valid within stickered calendar month.
Use Case: The perfect pass for those living on or near a City-Fixed route that ride the bus frequently. Equivalent to a City-Fixed roundtrip on The Bus every other day. If you ride 15 times or more on a City-Fixed route each month, this is the pass for you.
Standard Pass: $60 | Discounted Pass: $30
20-Ride Punch Card: 20-Ride Punch Card gets you twenty one-way rides on any route. Punch Cards do not expire.
Routes: All Routes
Validity Period- Does not expire.
Use Case: The ideal fare type for those living on or near a Commuter Route that ride infrequently. Equivalent to 20 one-way Commuter fares but may be used on any MVRTD route.
Standard Card: $60 | Discounted Card: $30

On the following holidays, The Bus will run all routes on a Sunday schedule:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Our schedule is based on two seasons: Summer and Winter.
Summer Season runs from May 1st to October 31st.
Winter Season runs from November 1st to April 30th.
We will pick you up at a specific requested location within 1/4 mile of the specific route, if feasible. Requests can be made by calling MVRTD at 773-3244 ext 117 or ask the bus driver to assist you.
Flag Down Stops are pickup locations where if the area is safe for drivers to pull over and pick someone up they will. If the area is deemed not safe by the driver they will be unable to stop at the Flag Down Stop. Please view our route maps to see designated Flag Down Stops.
During the hours listed, please call the MVRTD’s Dispatch office at 802-773-3244 ext. 117 to request a pick up from the Transit Center in downtown Rutland, to access any of our established Fixed Routes within the city.
Yes, we love being a part of the Rutland community! Every year we provide the eponymous Bus in ‘Stuff-a-Bus’, a community donation drive that occurs each November. We also provide incidental transportation services to a number of organizations including the Killington Ski Resort during events such as The Spartan Race and The World Cup.

A Sunday Schedule is used on Holidays. In the Summer Season. the only route running is the Rutland-Killington Route and in the Winter Season: The Rutland-Killington & Ludlow Routes.
Credit cards are currently accepted at the Transit Center to purchase fares, passes, and punch cards. Riders may use a pre-paid fare or use cash when boarding The Bus.
Vermont Translines stops at the Transit Center daily for trips to Burlington and Albany. For more information, please visit Vermont Translines’ Website to learn about their routes and schedules.
The Rutland Transit Center is located at 102 West St. in Rutland, VT 05701. It is open between 8AM-5PM Monday thru Friday with a lunchbreak from 12pm-1pm daily.
MVRTD has a fare free zone in place in the following locations on the Rutland-Killington Route:
Pico Resort, Distillery, and the Killington Resort.
Riders who board The Bus at these locations do not need to pay a fare. All other locations will require a pre-paid or cash fare to board.
